It’s February, and romance is in the air. Be seduced by scents, sounds, mystery and a classic love story
scentsual healing
Let Diptyque take you on a journey of olfactory escapism. Whether you’re looking to be transported to an ancient castle, a summer meadow or a damp forest, their exclusive scent collection including bois cire (waxed wood), foin coupé (freshly mown hay) and mousses (moss) will take you there.
city nights
If you’ve been looking for something to play in the background whilst you drink brandy by candlelight, might I suggest the Noir L.A. YouTube channel. It has 11-hour streams of perfectly curated dark jazz to set the perfect mood.
love story
Valentines month is the perfect time to watch (or rewatch) Pawel Pawlikowski’s 2018 masterpiece Cold War. Possibly the ultimate love story; at once tender, funny and heartbreaking. It’s available to watch on Prime Video.
the unexplained
In 1959, nine students went hiking in the Ural Mountains and never returned. When their bodies were eventually found, they were in strange locations and had puzzling injuries. The Dyatlov Pass incident has generated several conspiracy theories, such as Soviet military experiments, the yeti and alien invasion. However, new research published at the end of January may have found a more prosaic solution to the tale. If you want to read more about the story, the Unexplained Mysteries two-part podcast is a good starting point.
luxury leather
Simplicity in leather goods allows the craftsmanship to really sing. This bucket bag from The Row is an absolute dream, especially with the contrast suede interior. Find it at net-a-porter.
